Himeji Rika was founded in 1965 in Himeji, Hyogo, with the primary business purpose of processing glass for physical and chemical applications. Starting with the production of various types of lighting bulbs, we have continued to expand with technological advances, and our current business areas include quartz glass products, which are indispensable in the semiconductor, optical, and advanced physics and chemistry fields, as well as industrial lamps and heaters that cover everything from vacuum ultraviolet to circular infrared, and a variety of products that combine these products. We have also expanded our business to include the development, design, and manufacture of original equipment that combines these products.

In our main business of quartz glass processing for semiconductor manufacturing equipment, we not only manufacture custom-made products exactly as our customers request, but also propose unit equipment that combines quartz parts and lamps, processing methods and delivery times that take into account the process up to market launch, in order to provide our customers with the best possible solution. We propose the best solution for our customers. Our ability to make comprehensive proposals is made possible by the quartz glass house technology our skilled technicians have developed and the advanced in-house machinery and equipment we have cultivated through the manufacture of lighting bulbs.

In March 2020, we opened a new plant in Wakamatsu City, Fukushima Prefecture, mainly for large-size grinding, and through M&A, we acquired the shares of “Yokohama Quartz” and “Quartz Riken”, which became a group company “Yokohama Quartz” and “Quartz Riken”. We intend to carry out M&A of companies with excellent technologies to take over their value and expand into new business areas for the Himeji Rika Group, as well as to enhance the value of the Group. Naturally, we are also considering expanding the field of possible innovations in the supply of products to the East Asian region and global markets to realize this, not only domestically. Currently, we only have a sales office in Taiwan, but we are also working to develop a production and sales base in Asia.
